WHAT IS QI GONG?

Qi Gong is a form of exercise that is one modality of Chinese medicine as acupuncture is. Many people in China practice Qi Gong regularly. There are many different forms which can address various body systems or can just be done for well-being and maintenance of health. It is often practiced adjunctive to cancer therapies in China.

The form I teach is named Fan Teng Gong, a form of Qi Gong that focuses on healing. It can be translated as “a method allowing ordinary people to fly to Heaven” meaning even common people can attain fulfillment.

Fan Teng Gong comprises a total of 14 exercises: two cleansing exercises to discharge exhausted Qi, two exercises to absorb vital Qi and ten main exercises to regulate Qi and strengthen the body. Each of the main exercises builds upon the previous one. As it is with Qi Gong, the beneficial effect depends on regularity and commitment.

Fan Teng Gong is especially beneficial for people with health problems as well as people who work in a therapeutic field, who feel exhausted from the encounter with their clients and patients. It is also helpful when you find yourself in life situations that are difficult. It relieves stress and balances mood.
